Kurt Raymond Gies

Kurt Gies brings a unique set of talents to Certified Mortgage Planners.  After receiving both a Bachelor and Master of Engineering degree from the University of Florida, he served for 25 years with distinction as a United States Naval officer; retiring in 2007 at the rank of Commander.  Upon his return from a 2-year deployment overseas fighting the War on Terrorism in 2003, he spent 7 years in the Commercial Real Estate brokerage industry closing over $300 million in real estate transactions.  In 2010, Kurt founded a non-profit faith-based ministry to serve distressed homeowners called RHEMA Solutions.  He also went on to earn his real estate Broker’s license and became the owner/broker for American Way Real Estate where they specialize in buyer and listing services and negotiations.  In 2010, Kurt entered the mortgage industry becoming a NMLS licensed mortgage consultant where he has closed over $26 million in HECM (Reverse), VA, FHA, USDA, Jumbo, Conventional and Private money loans.

When he is not helping people solve their financial and real estate needs, Kurt enjoys playing golf while coaching high school lacrosse and football.  He was a founding member and served as the Vice President of the South Orlando Pop Warner Association for 11 years.  Currently, he serves as the Commander for the Winter Garden American Legion Post 63 and the Vice Commander for the 6^th District of Florida.

He is married to the former Lana Lenkoff Wilken and resides in Oakland, FL.  He has two adult children and three step children.  His son is a graduate of the University of South Florida with degrees in Business Management and Business Finance.  His daughter graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Sports Marketing and minor in Business.  His step daughter is a Senior at Florida Gulf Coast Univ and his two step sons are attending Southwest Community College and West Orange High School.
